  • Brain Longevity: A Science-based Lifestyle Protocol for the Prevention of Cognitive Decline | Chris Walling

Maintaining a sharp brain throughout the life cycle is the number one goal of baby boomers (Sharp, 2015). As we age, we aim for healthy longevity, high quality of life and peace of mind, but staggering statistics indicate women's lifetime risk for Alzheimer's Disease is 1 in 6 now, and 1 in 11 for men. Join us for this exciting presentation where Dr. Chris Walling, Outreach Chairman of the Alzheimer’s Research Prevention Foundation will outline an evidenced based lifestyle and yogic meditation protocol recently published in the Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease.

Fifty is the new thirty. In our thirties we were confident, stable, yet nimble! In the culture of repositioning, brand and environment don’t need to act their age! This session will focus on how an older yet established community can use stability and lack of inhibitions to leverage emerging ideas while achieving relevance and sustainability. Beatitudes Campus representatives will frame the discussion on the importance of collaborative synergies between brand, market research, financial viability, operational opportunities, architectural significance and construction to help you develop a “how to” guide no matter which phase of process you happen to be in.
  • Cybercrime & Ransomware: How to Minimize Risks | Lee Painter
In the last 12-18 months, the most common IT questions among HealthCare leadership is in relation to cybercrime and IT security. The senior living environment is undergoing significant change. Strong capital flows into the for-profit sector have led to what some fear is over-building in multiple markets. Competitive pressures on not-for-profits are high and come from many directions. At the same time, many providers have dated physical plants, and seek to establish strategies to work in the post-acute environment that healthcare reform has wrought. This session will cover hot trends of the next year in the industry – competitive pressures, healthcare reform/skilled nursing environments, marketing, occupancy development, technology integration, construction and redevelopment, consumer preferences/change, demographics, and finance among others. This session will also feature national trend information around growth strategies among the LeadingAge Ziegler 150, consumer trends, financing trends, sponsorship transition activity, and other pertinent data. One or more case studies of successful growth execution will be presented.
To be successful in achieving the Department of Health Services Vision for “ Health and Wellness for all Arizonans” and specifically the Mission “to promote, protect, and improve the health and wellness of individuals and communities”, there needs to a culture of Collaboration and Engagement. This session will focus on regulatory role of the Department and how we can work together to achieve quality of care and services in our licensed and certified health care institutions.
