Blink and you’ll miss the unobtrusive sign pointing you down a stairwell on Larimer Street. Enter the vestibule—which doubles as a pie shop, because of course it does—where the host will lead you through a door posting the house rules. They’re more like words to live by: Be patient, be adventurous, be kind and dress smartly (oh: and use your cell phone in the old booth). This throwback to the speakeasy era is a veritable grotto, dark and rock-walled, with antique parlor furnishings and velvet booths, gilt-framed mirrors, lanterns, cast-iron ice tongs, and jazz playing softly in the background.
