About Arizona LeadingAge

Arizona LeadingAge is a 501 (c) 6 Association of people and Not-for-Profit organizations that advocate and educate on issues related to the continuum of care for people over the age of 65. Arizona LeadingAge serves its members by providing targeted information on a variety of issues related to housing, healthcare and home services. Arizona LeadingAge is a leader in education and advocacy in aging services in the State of Arizona.

Our History

Our organization, Arizona Association of Homes for the Aging, was incorporated on March 21, 1985 by a group of forward thinking not-for-profit senior homes and housing providers. The purpose: to advocate and educate for not-for-profit providers and the seniors they serve. We changed our name to Arizona Association of Homes and Housing for the Aging (AzAHA) in 1993, and again, in 2008 to Aging Services of Arizona. In 2011, we changed once more to LeadingAge Arizona, dba: Arizona LeadingAge.

Our national partner, LeadingAge, is an association of 6,000 not-for-profit organizations dedicated to expanding the world of possibilities for aging. Together, we advance public policies, promote best practices and offer cutting-edge trainings and educational programming.

Our Voting Members are Not-for-Profit Providers of healthcare, housing, and senior services in Arizona including:

• Not-for-profit Senior Housing Communities,
• Not-for-profit Continuing Care Retirement Communities (CCRC)/Life Plan Community
• Not-for-profit Elderly Service Providers, 
• Not-for-profit Assisted Living Communities, 
• and Not-for-profit Nursing Homes. 

Our Non-Voting Members include the following Affiliates:

• Our Individual Affiliates are individuals who join to gain access to information and education from experts in the field of aging. Some individuals have loved ones and are of need of guidance, while others have interest in Public Policy, Advocacy, or Professional/Personal training,
• Our General Affiliates are not-for-profit service organizations, not-for-profit hospitals, not-for-profit hospices, and any not-for-profit aging service related organization under construction.
• Our Business Affiliates are organizations who support their clients’ interests, and appreciates the networking opportunities for potential new business Arizona LeadingAge provides.
• Our Proprietary Affiliates are organizations who share our values and appreciate our conferences, trainings, and other educational offerings.
