2018 Arizona LeadingAge Annual Conference & Expo

GENERAL SESSIONS, TECHNOLOGY EXPERIENCE ROOM & SAVE A LIFE EXPERIENCE

Technology Experience Room (0.5 CEUs)

Senior living and technology has historically had a connotation of clinical tools such as medical records, MDS software, etc.  That obviously has relevance, but there are a multitude of technologies emerging that will make aging fun!  Arizona LeadingAge is delighted to present an interactive technology experience that will change your perception of aging, and of senior living. Virtual reality, robots, immersive sensors, wearables and voice activation are just some of what you will see and feel at the conference.  We don’t want to tell you any more than that for now, you’ll have to   attend to find out.  Experiencing is believing!

NEW ADDITION TO THE CONFERENCE

Save a Life Experience

a Hands-on Educational Experience

This is for all attendees -- not just for employees of senior living facilities!

Participants will learn critical steps of Immediate Resuscitation to help save the brain and save a life prior to the arrival of first responders. Immediate Resuscitation is evidence-based best practice out-of-hospital resuscitation in the event of cardiac arrest. High-fidelity mannequins will be utilized to provide real-time feedback for compression rate, depth, recoil, hand placement and other metrics which enhance participant learning. Sponsored by the RightCare Foundation.

How do you keep your emerging and established leaders energized and enthusiastic as they tackle massive change? How do your leaders help their team members cope with overwhelm and ambiguity?Give them the greatest gift of all: hope. In her dynamic keynote, Libby shares the scientific data on Hope Theory as well as her own research and insights on the impact of hope on the workplace. She demonstrates why hope is one of the most important elements of successful leadership and culture - as well as one of its most overlooked. She provides relevant organization-specific customization and a dynamic interactive approach that gets audiences thinking, talking, and - most important - taking action on new ideas the very same day.

Thursday, May 31

8:45 - 10:15 AM        General Session - Ethics Matter | Aaron Beam (1.5 CEUs)

Aaron Beam's story reads like the "Great American Success Story": start a healthcare company from zero, raise some venture capital, take the company public in two years, become a millionaire overnight and see the company become the darling of Wall Street. But the success story didn't end there. Instead, Beam found himself in the middle of a corporate scandal, lost almost everything and ended up in prison. That's not the way success stories are supposed to end, but for Beam, that is the harsh reality.
