Arizona Assisted Living Manager Training Program


For the Assisted Living Manager Training program, the cost of the program is $450 for Members of Arizona LeadingAge and $650 for Non-Members including the program registration fee. There $125 testing fee is not included in registration.

A student price is available to those that submit a valid course schedule.

The total required training hours for individuals is 40 hours.

Application Criteria

Pre-requisite for the Assisted Living Manager Training program is to have a valid form of ID, a copy of your Social Security card, an Arizona Caregiver Certificate obtained after August 2013 (unless you are licensed in Arizona as an MD, DO, RN, LPN, or Arizona Nursing Care Institution Administrator), a valid fingerprint clearance card, and a CPR/First Aid Card.

Assisted Living Manager Training Program Structure


  • Step One: Submit the registration packet with additional documents prior to check-in.
  • Step Two: Attend, study, and complete the curriculum.
  • Step Three: Arizona LeadingAge will register the individual for the State Exam.
  • Step Four: Take the state exam and pass!

Licensing Information

To become a licensed Assisted Living Manager, you must have the following submitted to the NCIA Board:

  • Prepare for the online Manager's License Application Form.
  • A valid Arizona Caregiver Certificate obtained after August 2013 (unless you are licensed in Arizona as an MD, DO, RN, LPN, or Arizona Nursing Care Institution Administrator).
  • A Manager Certification obtained within one (1) year of applying for licensing
  • 2,080 hours of paid work experience in a health-related field within five years prior to the application.
  • Obtain a score of at least 75 on the Arizona Examination
  • Complete an adult cardiopulmonary resuscitation and basic first-aid training.
